Sperry Light
Sperry Light, New Haven, Conn

The Outer Breakwall Light was established in 1899 to help mariners through the outermost breakwall in New Haven Harbor. It officially became New Haven Light in 1912, but was commonly referred to as "Sperry Light" in honor of congressman Nehemiah Sperry. The cast-iron lighthouse became operational in 1900 and was in use until 1933. Postmarked 1911. Published by Danziger & Berman, New Haven, CT, #2136. Postcard in album.
